Ghost Promotions - Office Exceptions

Ghost Promotions occur when a promotional price is directly entered into Inventory Maintenance pricing tab.  In most cases, this promotional price will persist until it is manually removed.  SKUs with a manual promotional price will disable the normal activation/deactivation process (MIP/RUP) and therefore will remain and sell on their promotional price indefinitely.  The goal is to remove the promotional pricing from Inventory Maintenance and then set up a proper clearance promotional file through MIP to manage the process.

Why a SKU is listed:
Ghost Promos can happen when staff bypasses the promotional system (MIP/RUP) to quickly make an item ring up on sale.  The problem is the item never gets deactivated when the sale is over since the item was never placed into the MIP system and will therefore sell at its promotional price indefinitely.  If we set up a proper MIP file to manage these promotions then it can both help manage our closeout process and more easily identify newly created Ghost Promos!
