Gross Profit Exceptions- Office Exceptions

Items listed under the Gross Profit Exceptions page have been identified as having an special, abnormal, or out-of-bounds margin condition and therefore have been excluded from Mango's Margin Percentage calculations (Charts Report - Executive Summary and Key Metrics). SKUs listed can be separated into 2 categories: 

1. Non-error Exceptions: rental, labor or similar special high-margin SKUs. These are high volume and high (or low) margin SKUs and are being omitted for margin consistency and benchmarking purposes. This way, your store and peer stores margin can be compared in an apples-to-apples way. These exceptions will continue to appear on your reports as information only. 

2. Errors: many times an errant transaction at point-of-sale or an errant cost can generate huge swings in your store's reported margin. Since this reported margin is used in financial statements, it is smart to reverse the error as soon as possible. Usually, this means reversing the transaction first then fixing the cost/qty and re-rining the transaction. Please let your owner/accountant know about the issue, especially if occurs near or at your fiscal year-end.
