Reference - Location Codes Using the location code scheme outlined below will help your store get the most out of Mango. The scheme is derived from Ace's best practices and is the most commonly employed code scheme in stores. For more information see Acenet -> Ace Way of Retailing (make sure you're logged into Acenet). Your Eagle system can use up to 6 location codes for each SKU, and each location code can have up to 5 characters.
SKU's secondary sales floor location
(if it has one)
Utilizing this scheme, you will get the most out of Mango's location-driven reports, including its Back Stock Replenishment system, and multi-location SKU maintenance reports.
Location consists of a five-character identifier. The first two characters of the location code (for regular floor merchandise) will start with the SKU's aisle number, make sure aisle 1 - 9 are preceded with a 0 so they sort properly. For example, aisle 1 should be entered as 01 and aisle 2 will be 02, and so on up until aisle 09. After the aisle number is a left-side, right-side or wall indicator (L, R, W). Then after this indicator is the four-foot section number, typically starting at the aisle with 01 then working towards the wall sequentially.
AAXSS: AA = Aisle#, X is R for Right, L for Left, W for Wall, ; SS is 4-section number (01, 02, 03...sequential 4-foot sections). Example: 09R10 means the ninth aisle, right-hand side, tenth four-foot section in.
STORE: Store Use. 9SERV: Service counter area 9OSDE: Outside Inventory 9CASH: Check Out Areas XXEND: Permanent End Caps: Aisle Number + END. Example 09END. 9FLOR: Center of the store floor
DNRSP: These are SKUs set aside for ecommerce service charges such as grill assembly and delivery.
RENT: Rental SKUs.
PRXX: In/Out promo, XX is the year of the in/out promo. Example: PR21 is an in/out promotion in 2021.
SPXX: Special Orders or one-time buys where XX is the year. Example PR21.
DRXX: Closed-out or Dropped Items, XX is the year. Example: DR21 means Dropped in the year 2021.
XMA_: Christmas items. XMA then the year of the product. XMA1 for a Christmas item displayed in 2021 NEW: The code automatically assigned to newly added SKUs (controlled by Eagle's MCL Default Location setting for each class, store specific).
Location Codes - Location 2 - Secondary Location
If you sell merchandise in multiple locations in your store then those SKUs need a secondary location. For example, if you sell your Post Levels in your tool aisle and also with your mailbox posts (not a bad idea) then enter the location of your mailbox posts in Location 2 (click on the Location hyperlink in the Stocking tab of Inventory Maintenance). Using multiple locations has multiple benefits
