MEGA Report - RCIN Issues
This report looks for two common issues with RCIN, which are described below. What is RCIN? RCIN is the report responsible for changing or combining one SKU to another. Issue 1: RCIN to Discontinued or Store Closeout Flag Y Occasionally a SKU is merged into an existing SKU that has its Discontinued or Store Closeout flag set to Yes. Typically this is not desired because the newly merged SKU will not come up to be reordered. To resolve this issue: Decide if the newly merged (RCIN'ed) SKU is active. If it is active, change the Discontinued flag and Store Closeout flag to N. Multistore note: The Discontinued flag is master data. The Store Closeout flag is store-specific data. Issue 2 - Possible errant RCINs Sometimes unrelated items are merged by mistake. We look for recently merged items with a large cost variance and/or product group and department variance. To resolve this issue: Determine if the merge combines two related SKUs. (Unrelated merges will be obvious.) The fix can be difficult as UPC quantity-on-hand and sales data are absorbed into the new SKU. Fixing involves adding the errantly merged SKU and disassociating the errant UPC and related quantity-on-hand values.
