MEGA Report - Kit Header Issues
This report identifies SKUs that are miscategorized as kit headers. When that happens, the inventory value and sales data for those SKUs are not included in store reports and those SKUs are not reordered. What are kit records and kit headers? A kit record is a package of items that are bundled together. A kit header is a custom SKU (non-Ace) assigned to that package of items. When kits are sold, the individual items are accounted for in your system, but the custom kit header SKUs are ignored for accounting, purchasing, and reordering purposes. For example, a store might create a Halloween package consisting of hand warmers, a pumpkin carving took, a flashlight, and glow sticks. To assign a discount to the bundle and to make the bundle easier to check out, you would create a custom non-warehouse SKU, such as HWBUNDLE, and assign individual SKUs to the custom HWBUNDLE SKU so the package can be sold as one custom SKU. For more information, open Epicor's Eagle Browser help system and search on kit record. To resolve this issue, recategorize each kit header SKU listed in the report. In Epicor's Eagle Browser, open Inventory Maintenance. Enter a SKU from your Kit Header Issues report and click the Display button. Click the Codes tab. Click the Kit Record link to check whether any SKUs are associated with the kit header SKU. If SKUs are listed in the Kit Record Maintenance window and you want to group those SKUs in a valid kit header SKU later, write down the SKUs so you'll know which SKUs to group. Where is the Kit Record link? Close the Kit Record Maintenance window. In the Codes tab, select N from the Kit Record field. (Multi-store note: Changes to the Kit Record field automatically apply to all of your stores.) Click the Change button to save your changes. (Optional) To create a valid Kit Record Header SKU, as mentioned in step 4, see the Setting Up Kit Records topic in the Epicor Eagle Browser's help system.
